Most free image compressors are websites: your photos are uploaded to someone else's server to be processed. For anything personal or confidential, that's an unnecessary risk for a task that takes seconds. Desktop alternatives that avoid this usually charge a recurring subscription, even though compressing a batch of images is normally a one-time need.

Is this a subscription?
No. It's $12.99 once, with no recurring charge and no expiry. Use it for as long as you want.
What happens right after I pay?
Stripe redirects you to a confirmation page with download links for both platforms, usually within a couple of seconds, and we email a confirmation to the address you gave. Each link works up to 20 times, in case you need to reinstall.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Email [email protected] within 30 days of buying and we refund the full amount to your original payment method, with no reason needed. Your download links stop working after a refund, and because the app runs offline we ask you to uninstall it.
Does it need an account or an internet connection to run?
No accounts, ever. Once it's installed, it runs completely offline. There's no server it talks to, and nothing about your images or usage is ever sent anywhere.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows 10/11 (x64) as a .exe or .msi installer, and Linux (x64) as a .deb or .rpm package. macOS isn't supported yet.
Is my payment secure?
Checkout runs entirely on Stripe's own hosted page. Deembyte never sees or stores your card details.
