Refund Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for the two things Deembyte LLC sells: software products bought through the Site, currently Deembyte Image Tools (Section 2), and software development engagements (Section 3). It applies alongside, and is referenced by, our Terms of Service.
2. Image Tools: 30-day refund
You can ask for a full refund of an Image Tools purchase within 30 days of the purchase date. You do not need to give a reason. This applies to every buyer, wherever you live.
- What you get back. The full price you paid, to your original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take several business days to show it.
- What happens to your access. After a refund your download links stop working. The app runs offline and has no activation check, so we cannot switch off a copy that is already installed. We ask you to uninstall it and stop using it.
- If it does not work for you. Tell us first. We would like the chance to fix a problem, but you can still choose a refund at any point in the 30 days.
- After 30 days. Purchases are not refunded after 30 days, except where the law requires it or where we agree to it in a particular case.
Buyers in the EU and the UK. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a legal right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. At checkout you ask for your download to start immediately and acknowledge that this ends that legal right. Our 30-day refund is separate, applies to you as well, and lasts longer, so in practice you can still get a full refund during those 30 days. Nothing in this policy limits rights that the law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
Please contact us before disputing a charge. A refund from us is quicker than a dispute with your bank, and costs you nothing.
3. Software development engagements
The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and price of any engagement are set out in a separate written agreement executed before work begins; where that agreement addresses refunds directly, its terms control. Engagements are billed per milestone, as agreed in the written engagement. Refund eligibility depends on whether work on a given milestone has started:
- Not yet started. Any milestone that hasn't been started is always refunded in full, whether you cancel before it begins or the engagement ends for any other reason.
- In progress or delivered. Once work has started on a milestone, that milestone is non-refundable, since it reflects time and resources already committed.
- Cancellation for breach. If we terminate an engagement due to your breach of the Terms of Service, milestones already delivered or in progress are not refunded.
4. Free scoping call
The initial scoping call and the written quote that follows it are free and carry no obligation. Nothing is charged, and there is nothing to refund, until you agree to a scope and a milestone payment is made.
5. How to request a refund
Email [email protected]. For an Image Tools purchase, write from the email address you used at checkout, or include the reference from your confirmation or Stripe receipt. For an engagement, include your project name and the reason for cancellation. We reply within one business day, confirm what qualifies for a refund under this policy, and send it to the original payment method.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Changes apply to purchases and engagements entered into after the change takes effect, not retroactively to a purchase already made or an engagement already under a written agreement.
